Nothing excites the neighbourhood children more than the annual sight of inflatable fun as Kensington Community League once again celebrated Community League Day on September 20 with a free barbecue and plenty of fun for the kids. Community League Day is a city wide celebration of community leagues and gives everyone a chance to come out and meet their neighbours, watch the kids joust and play bouncy basketball, enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs and find out what the community has to offer. This year Kensington even hosted a scavenger hunt encouraging participants to find clues in the park area. Prizes were awarded through a draw. Everyone had an opportunity to see the plans for the spray deck which is scheduled to open next year. Also on for display was a draft of the community walking maps - an exciting new project which maps our neighbourhoods and encourages exploration. Everyone was delighted with the performance of Mana-Rayne Ash, the fire eater who put on an awe-inspiring show for all ages. Many thanks to all the volunteers who made Kensington's Community League Day outstanding - once again proving we ARE the best place to live in Edmonton.
